Stuart Ashe

Born in Gloucestershire, I spent my very early years in South Wales but did most of my growing up in Alveston. I have 53 years of life experience and returned to the village two years ago after a 23-year break living and working in various other parts of the country.

Having, grown up in the Thornbury area I played sports at local clubs and spent time on the committee of Thornbury cricket Club. I moved to Charfield when I met my wife-to-be and always loved the rural location and the special peace and quiet which Charfield seemed to possess.

Having returned to the village 2 years ago with Jenny and our two rescue dogs, I hope to be able to ‘do my bit’ to help current and future residents enjoy all that the village has to offer without losing it through over-expansion or over-development.

I like to think I am thoughtful and analytical and not afraid to express my opinion but able to debate matters and see both sides of an argument whilst being prepared to stand firm when the occasion demands.

My leisure activities now mostly consist of playing golf as a member at Stinchcome Hill Golf Club and restoring our 90-year-old Dutch Barge.
