Jenny Ashe

Born in Manchester I moved south with my parents when I was 6 years old and grew up, for the most part, in Surrey. I moved to this area in 1979, living first in Chipping Sodbury, then Almondsbury, before moving to Charfield in early 1986.

I lived here for just shy of 10 years with my son and our dog. During this time I worked full time, first for the NHS at Eastwood Park and then for Avon & Somerset Police at Filton and Chipping Sodbury. My son went to Charfield School and KLB.

In September 1995 I remarried and we moved to Yorkshire for my husband’s job. However, much as I liked Yorkshire, Gloucestershire called and I persuaded my husband to come back. Initially we moved to Eastcombe, near Stroud, but in October 2018 we finally made it back to Charfield.

Obviously the village has grown enormously over the years but I think the essence of Charfield remains pretty much the same. My hope is that by being part of the Parish Council I can help to keep it that way.
