“Breedon Quarry, near Churchend
Following the recent archaeological visit, stripping the top-soils from the quarry extension area is due to begin week commencing September 12th.
Initially this will involve a bulldozer coming to site to commence work on Wednesday, September 14th.
The aim is to strip the soils and create the bunds surrounding the site and will involve the bulldozer, an excavator and dumpers, an exercise that will take five to six weeks.
By their very nature these operations can create a degree of noise above that of the normal quarry activities but are of a limited duration and will not commence before 8.00 am.”
