Standing Order 7 of Charfield Parish Council says that we are able to revisit a resolution no earlier than six months after it was made.
Six months ago we Resolved to be against the proposed new railway station, full stop. At the extra ordinary meeting this evening (12th August) we held an open public participation and discussed the matter of the station, after which Charfield Parish Council Resolved their position anew.
In a slightly more nuanced Resolution, carried unanimously, the Parish Council agreed:
“that Charfield Parish Council Resolves to support in principle the construction of a railway station for the residents of Charfield, but is opposed in principle to Charfield being offered up as a “Regional Transport Hub”, and is opposed to the widening of Station Road and the construction of a car park at its extremity”.
Minutes of the meeting will of course be available shortly.
